Among them, Tchouhadjian was the composer who created the first opera in the Middle East; Spendiaryan introduced the orchestra to national music; Manas harmonized and orchestrated the national anthem of the Turkish Republic; Yekmalian studied with Rimsky Korsakov; Ghorghanian set Tolstoy’s text to music;
Mikuli was Chopin's protégé; Elmas played for Liszt. Although evocative of an older age, “Hommage” is vibrant with the pulse of a new world.
