The piano works of Komitas (1869 – 1935), the Armenian composer and musicologist, consist mostly of re-creations of regional folk dances he notated when traveling in historic Armenia.
Komitas is one of the pioneering researchers who valued the significance of people’s music and disseminated it through his compositions. His compositional style for piano is sparse and unique.
The trilingual lavish booklet contains many historical photos.
